Love Is More Than a Feeling

Modern culture defines love as emotion. Scripture defines love as commitment.

1 Corinthians 13 does not describe butterflies or excitement; it describes patience, kindness, humility, endurance, and truth. Love “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

Real love is tested when emotions fluctuate. It shows up when forgiveness is required. It chooses kindness when anger feels easier.

Rev. Caleb

Real love is tested when emotions fluctuate. It shows up when forgiveness is required. It chooses kindness when anger feels easier.

Jesus demonstrated love not with words alone but with sacrifice (John 15:13). Marriage mirrors this love. True love says, “I choose you,” even on difficult days.

Relationships rooted in emotion alone will struggle. But relationships rooted in God’s definition of love endure.

Love is a decision before it is a feeling. Feelings follow commitment. When couples practice daily acts of service, prayer, and communication, affection grows deeper.

Faith-based love asks: “How can I reflect Christ to my spouse today?” That question transforms homes.
